Puerto Rico has a capital gain tax rate of 20%. Ordinary companies must make equal installment payments on the 15th day of the fourth, sixth, ninth, and twelfth months of the tax year, while tax-exempt businesses can jointly pay the first and second installments on the 15th day of the sixth month. The CIT payment and return due dates for regular companies are within the first 15 days of the fourth month after the end of their tax year, and for tax-exempt businesses, it is within the first 15 days of the sixth month. The general CIT rate is 37.5%, with an additional tax of 19% on income over $275,000. There is a sales and use tax of 11.5% on tangible personal property and certain services, and 4% for business-to-business services and designated services. Non-residents are subject to a 10/29/29 withholding tax on dividends, interest, and royalties, while residents are not subject to any withholding tax.
