A limited liability company is a common form of legal entity in Egypt, referred to in full as a Limited Liability Company. The ownership of a limited liability company is collective ownership, where multiple shareholders jointly own the company. Unlike other forms of companies, shareholders of a limited liability company enjoy limited liability, meaning their personal assets are protected from the company's debts. A limited liability company does not require public participation in the market. The minimum registered capital for a limited liability company is EGP 50,000, and it requires at least one shareholder and one director. However, if there is only one shareholder, capital verification is required. For companies with two or more shareholders, opening an account for capital verification is not mandatory during the incorporation process; the capital verification deposit can be made into an account at a later stage. The limited liability company is a flexible, simple, and low-cost form of legal entity, suitable for small businesses and individual entrepreneurs.
